This is a prototype of a wiki-based online learning system for simulation technology.
This wiki-site makes it easy for users to collaborate on developing, upgrading, and maintaining curricular materials related to simulation technology. Contributors can easily create and edit tutorials. The wiki-site also enables users to upload related curricular materials such as homework problems and PowerPoint presentations, making it easy for the community to share these materials.
We are developing a template that contributors can use to create new tutorials for the site. This template will incorporate the best practices in using simulation. The use of a template will ensure that the tutorials follow a similar structure and are informed by sound pedagogical practices even though developed by different authors.
Currently, we have modules for learning:
- Finite-element analysis (FEA) using ANSYS
- ANSYS tutorials from Prantil et al textbook - Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using ANSYS FLUENT
- Program development using MATLAB
- Wind turbine analysis using GH Bladed
- Tips for editing in confluence
Each learning module contains a step-by-step tutorial that shows details of how to solve a selected problem using the particular software.
When installing simulation programs covered in these tutorials, follow these Testing Protocols to assure the program is working correctly.
