University Id Card system resides in PeopleSoft. This system relies on person, job and student data to produce id cards for all of the Cornell Community.
Cornell University’s ID Card Management system is an enhancement within the PeopleSoft application. Peoplesoft is the data repository and system of record for all University ID Card data and photos. By using PeopleSoft as the repository, Office of University Registrar (OUR) has access to the most current data available when creating an ID card. Office of University Registrar uses a third-party application (Id Works) to print ID cards. Maintenance of ID cards is done through custom-built pages in Peoplesoft. Data is also reflected in Id Works.
The PeopleSoft ID card system processes:
- new hires and students
- inactivates terminated employees, deceased employees and students who are no longer active in a program
- re-activates rehires
A batch process synchronizes the badge types to reflect the person’s current status at Cornell. The PeopleSoft ID card system interacts with multiple university systems (Transportation, Campus Life and Facilities).
