Fall 2011
I worked with my team mates Breann and Muhammad in the demo plant team. This plant plays a vital role to the growth of Aguaclara technologies. It serves as a good educational tool and is widely used by Aguaclara to promote itself across communities. It shows all the unit processes to help people understand what AguaClara is about.
We incorporated an LFOM, and a dose controller to the old demo plant and conducted experimental methods to test the flow rate versus water depth. I helped in drafting Research reports by doing some math cad calculations and also during the fabrication of both LFOM and dose controller. We are planning to fabricate and incorporate a Stacked Rapid Sand filter and a Sedimentation tank in the next semester.
Spring 2012
I teamed up with Thalia Aaoki to design the sedimentation tank for the demo plant. We based our design on the ENGRI 1131 class work to construct a sedimentation tank that successfully creates a floc blanket. I helped fabricating the sedimentation tank by cutting down the pvc tube to fit into the new 80/20 frame for the plant, and adjusting water flow through the plant. I also helped in doing Capture velocity and headloss calculations for drafting our final report.
