Spring 2017 Contributions

This semester, I am a part of the Floc Size and Count App team. Our aim is to make it more useful to users by making the timing independent from the camera and display actual measurements instead of pixel sizes.

Fall 2016 Contributions

This semester, I am a part of the Floc Size and Count App team. Out aim is to combine the two functionalities (data acquisition and analysis) into one user program. Another feature we aim to add to the software is the capability to continuously capture and analyse images to provide more data for the user. We also want to design a hardware structure that could be used in the lab for floc analysis before the end of the semester so that the teams on lab could test the program and give back feedback. Our aim is to have an executable program that could be distributed to the lab and field by the end of the semester.

Spring 2016 Contributions

This semester, I was a part of the Floc Size and Count App team. Our aim was to create an app that is user-friendly and that provides real time useful interpretation of floc size distributions for performance analysis using LabVIEW. We spent some time mastering LabVIEW functionalities as well as understanding Vision plugin that enabled image specific functions to be used. I worked on the image acquisition functionality for the final program and connecting it with the image analysis functionality to form one final product.

Fall 2015 Contributions

This semester, I was a part of the Chemical Safety team. Our aim was to create a safety materials for the operators of the plants in Honduras. We aconducted research regarding the safety hazards and first aid procedures regarding the chemicals used in the plants, mainly PACl, calcium hypochlorite, liquid chlorine and HCl. We also researched the available protective measures such as the use of PPE or eye washes to ensure maximum protection for the operators. The material we have created includes powerpoint presentations as well as posters about the proper use of PPE and fire diamonds.
