Inlet Manifold Future Challenges

Now that we have an idea of how the manifold reacts to different Am/Avc ratios, the challenge is to push the limits and see how small a manifold will still be acceptable for a given flow, as well as the maximum acceptable diameter for the same given flow.
The constraint in the first case would be the energy dissipation rate in the manifold itself. In the maximum diameter case, the constraint will be the flow distribution.

Although the scour velocity is not a constraint any more, considering we will have the ports facing down, a good idea would be to try the same experiments with flocculated water and see how the flocs react to the different changes.

Steps

  1. Select a flow to work with
  2. Push the limits to the smallest viable diameter
  3. Push the limits to the largest manifold diameter
  4. Repeat Experiments with Flocculated Water
