Fall 2016 Contributions
This semester I am a member of the 1 liter per second plant testing team. As someone who has helped build this plant during the summer of 2016, I am very familiar with it, and I hope to help my new teammates understand how the plant operates. We are planning to run clay tests with varying NTUs to test how effectively this plant can clean water, and to determine if any upgrades need to be made.
Spring 2016 Contributions
As a new member to the Enclosed Stacked Rapid Sand (EStaRS) Filter team, I hope to learn from and grow with my teammates. This semester we have a few projects ahed of us and I'm very excited to get started on them. We are looking forward to fully understanding the hydraulics of the filter and being able to run it efficiently with little problem. Once we have done that, we plan to continue past work on low-tech manometers to effectively tell us when the sand is fluidized during backwash. This has previously been done in past semesters, but we are working to make them simpler and easier to read.
