θSuggestions on Reorganizing CFD Wiki Pages
To best present our current understanding of AguaClara technologies based on CFD simulation results, the following logical structure is suggested:
The process of solving and analyzing problems with CFD includes 1) building a valid and stable model; 2) simulations analysis. So the hierarchy of the structure should be extended on these two main branches. And it may be necessary to separate 2D and 3D models.
1. Model building:
- define:
- mesh
- FLUENT set up
- solution scheme (1st/2nd/etc. order)
- validate:
- mesh sensitivity
- convergence
- turbulence models
- compare simulation results with experimental data
- compare between different turbulence models
- sensitivity to boundary conditions
- automation:
- mesh
- UDF
2. Simulation Analysis (past simulation experiments)
- Strain Rate, ε, kinematic viscosity
- vary clearance height
- Reynolds number
- Gθ
- Effect of Reynolds number on ε
- Optimizing: uniform energy dissipation rate approach
- Optimizing: performance parameter approach
- Reynolds Stress model
3. Implications for design
