θSuggestions on Reorganizing CFD Wiki Pages

To best present our current understanding of AguaClara technologies based on CFD simulation results, the following logical structure is suggested:

The process of solving and analyzing problems with CFD includes 1) building a valid and stable model; 2) simulations analysis. So the hierarchy of the structure should be extended on these two main branches. And it may be necessary to separate 2D and 3D models.

1. Model building:

  • define:
    • mesh
    • FLUENT set up
    • solution scheme (1st/2nd/etc. order)
  • validate:
    • mesh sensitivity
    • convergence
    • turbulence models
      • compare simulation results with experimental data
      • compare between different turbulence models
    • sensitivity to boundary conditions
  • automation:
    • mesh
    • UDF

2. Simulation Analysis (past simulation experiments)

  • Strain Rate, ε, kinematic viscosity
  • vary clearance height
  • Reynolds number
  • Effect of Reynolds number on ε
  • Optimizing: uniform energy dissipation rate approach
  • Optimizing: performance parameter approach
  • Reynolds Stress model
