Accomplishments
- Met with Monroe to discuss the specifics of the Pilot Plant.
- Discussed with Monroe about the results of the flocculation results.
- Performed maintenance on the Pilot Plant.
- Removed uniform baffles and stored them in secure area in Pilot Plant.
- Further elucidated on the equivalence ratio between the Filtration Plant PAC dosage and the aluminum sulfate dosage of the flocculation tank.
- Performed analysis on the turbidity data received from the flocculator at various alum dosages.
- Repaired vertical setup of the tube flocculator.
- Cleaned out clogs, junk and flotsam trapped within the flocculator tank.
- Attempted to repair leak in the tube flocculator with tape.
- Performed data analysis on turbidity levels for tapered vs. uniform baffle configurations.
Issues
- Air is still entering the tube flocculator.
- Bubbles are still trapped in the tube flocculator.
- Due to low temperatures, incoming turbidity was too low to produce conclusive results.
Outcome
- Flocculator tank has been cleaned.
- Tapered baffles stored properly.
- Determined that tapered baffle configuration produced marginally better turbidity than the uniform baffle configuration.
- Determined a possible optimum alum dosage based on the Filtration Plant's PAC dosage.
