During the Fall 2008 semester I have worked on the flocculation tank research team. Most of the research and analysis has been completed jointly with Jesse Prager. We meet twice a week in Swanson Computer lab. We have researched on different turbulent models, developed UDF function to extract effective G-theta value, created multiple geometries, and created automatics scripts to generate meshes in GAMBIT (me) and run cases in FLUENT (Jesse).  We are also taking optimization class in order to better learn the optimization techniques. I have done some background literature research regarding what turbulence model is appropriate for flow with high adverse pressure gradient and high strain rate (K-e realizable is probably the best model for such flow). Along with Wenqi Yi, I have also represented AguaClara in presenting the conference during IBE regional conference.  In general, both of us have done our best and spent a fairly amount of time in order to contribute to the team as much as possible.
