Animal reservoir: Salmonella Abony is rarely isolated from reptiles and birds.
Geographical distribution: S. Abony has been isolated several times in Europe, and has been identified as the cause of salmonellosis in Turkey.
Outbreaks: Outbreaks of S. Abony have been reported.
