A lot of the work that I have done this semester has involved assessing and fixing problems as well as adding additions onto the pilot plant. Major tasks completed were cutting larger holes in the channels, cleaning out the tank and caulking the bottom edge to prevent upwelling, helping Tom install the flow meter and bucket support. I helped design the sedimentation tank that is going to be installed at the pilot plant, and posted all of the designs in the Pilot Plant#Pilot Plant Construction and Research. In addition to the pilot plant I did a Plate Settler Cost Anaysis to determine the best option for constructing plate settlers. I have also been familiarizing Babette Stern with the project, and help her with technical questions and other project details when meeting with potential students and faculty that may be interested in doing health research.
