Spring 2016: During my first semester, I have a lot to learn! I plan to focus the first half of it familiarizing myself with MathCAD and AutoCAD. Once I feel fluent enough in the programs, I will likely take on the larger task of modular design. For this, I will work to create AutoCAD drawings of individual components of the plant as opposed to the entire plant itself. There is a lot of work ahead and I look forward to seeing how I can contribute!

Fall 2016: This semester, I look forward to exploring new territory within the design lab as I plan to begin writing code for plants with lower and higher flow rates than we have yet to work with. There are many different challenges associated with this task especially with defining the limits of when flow rates warrant the addition of parts to the plant. In these situations, there is research to be done on the set up of the plant and the layouts that the code produces. I am very excited for the work ahead and am optimistic that if we can perfect this code, it is possible for AguaClara to further expand the capacity of the plants that we build with our technology.
