Copying AFS Files To and From Your Computer
Option 1- Install the AFS Client

Option 2 - SFTP/SCP (Lab Transfer share is also remotely accessible)
Windows
- Download WinSCP
- Connect to remote.cnf.cornell.edu
- Login with the SHORT version of your Cornell NetID/GuestID and associated password
- If you receive an error box "Error looking up user groups", don't worry... just click "OK" and you can continue logging in
- If the connection does not work, check that the PREFERRED SSH PROTOCOL VERSION under the Advanced tab of the Login dialog is set to version 2
- Initially, you will be working directly out of your AFS home folder
- You can move up directory levels to get to CNF shares or to someone else's home folder – the lab transfer share is accessible at the top level folder: /cnflab
Mac OS X
- Download Fugu
- Connect to remote.cnf.cornell.edu
- Login with the SHORT version of your Cornell NetID/GuestID and associated password
- When prompted with a warning about the host key of the computer, click "Yes" to continue connecting (you should only see this warning once, ever, per computer -- if you see it again, don't continue)
- Initially, you will be working directly out of your AFS home folder
