Steven Mitchell's Individual Contribution Page

Spring 2009 Contributions

During this semester, I worked on the Chemical Dose Controller. While a substantial portion of my time was spent trying to understand how CDC and all of its components work together, I was responsible for bringing the Mathcad files of the three previous subteams, LFOM, Chemical Doser, and Flow Controller, into one comprehensive CDC file. I also tested to see what size of tubing would cause free fall to fail in the current Chemical Doser design. After the refocusing of our subteam to become more design-oriented, I worked on coming up with an entrance tank design for the Gracias Plant. I worked, along with my teammates on developing a Mathcad file that would give all of the important dimensions of the entrance tank we designed. I also helped to figure out what parts would need to be ordered to build a Nonlinear chemical doser, and ordered those parts.
