Spring 2009 Mid-Semester Contributions

I have really enjoyed getting more involved with AguaClara. So far this semester, my biggest contribution would be my work on the Pilot Plant. We have really focused on redesigning the baffle system for the flocculator, going through many iterations of clamps, o-rings, and tubing that will keep the baffles in place. We have finally gotten a design that we are happy with and we are going to start testing different baffle spacings after spring break.
During this whole process I have contributed ideas about our baffle system and I have contributed time implementing those ideas, putting the finishing touches on our baffle system so that we would be ready to start it up this week. I have also helped with outreach, working at our booth at the Battle of the Late Nights Foods.
