Student Grant Program Information
Engineering students may apply for Engineering Learning Initiatives for funding awards to support undergraduate research projects. The funds may be used to provide a student stipend, or to cover project expenses.
Key notes about the program and requirements:
- Only undergraduate engineering students are eligible
- Students are expected to work approximately 30 hours per week during the summer
- Student may not receive academic credit and stipend funds for the same project in a given term
- Students are required to submit a written report of their research to Engineering Learning Initiatives at the end of the award period
- Students are also required to present their work in either an oral or poster presentation at a conference or event, either on or off campus
- Maximum student stipend amount is $3000
- Maximum expenses-only amount is $500
- Maximum amount for both stipend and expense award is $3000
- Deadline for Summer 2010 was March 31, 2010
- Stipends are also awarded for research during the academic year
