130 RDA CHEAT SHEET

  • Following the “Compilations vs. Collaborations Decision Tree,” use for compilations with more than one creator if there is another work with the same title proper in OCLC.
  • NB: Any conflict between a 245 title proper and an identical 100 or 110 must also be broken!
  • Use the guidelines below to add qualifiers for works. Also add $l for translations. Other additions for expressions are possible, but not required.
  • Do not create authority records for 130s, either works or language expressions, at this time.
  • Generally do not predict a conflict, except when it would be stupid.
  • Devise a unique authorized access point for the work by adding the following elements, generally in this order of preference:
