Comments on draft surveys:

Pre-Imm Survey

  • question 1 - move to the 'program questions' rather than with teaching questions. (LM)
  • question 2 - rather than open-ended, give ranges of years and make it multiple choice?  Dependes on what do immersion faculty want to know (ZK)
  • question 3 - Oneshot (add Course Releated -- or something that matches what we use in Count it) (LM)
  • question 4 - substitute "like best" for "most enjoy" (LM)

Post- Imm Survey

  • One thought about the "post" survey: some benefits might not be related to learning specific skills – I don't know, like team building, for example.  Would you want to get at those?  How about knowing if they thought it was worth the time?  I might learn two new tricks but feel it was a waste of a full day, that I could've picked those up in an hour of reading???  Just a thought.  I like those very specific questions about follow-up.  (ZK)
  • question 2 - substitute "strategies" for ideas. (LM)
  • question 3 - this asks participants what they think would be useful for an IL program.  What about what the IL taskforce is doing for the IL program.  Will the goals from the IL taskforce be clear/shared with all participants? (LM)
  • question 4- is a little awkward, partly because of naming the two library groups, which I don't think is necessary – you can just say "What kind of post-Immersion programming would you like us to offer?  What would be most helpful to you? (JL)

 OVERALL

  • It took me about 15 minutes to complete. I don't think any of the questions are superfluous or redundant. I really liked the questions about the program because my first instinct was not to answer the questions from that perspective. (JP)
