My name is Kester Wilkening, I am currently an undergraduate junior majoring in Civil Engineering! I first learned about AguaClara in 2008 when I took a "Water Treatment Design" course, and I was really inspired about the capacity-building principles that drove AguaClara. In the past I have worked with "Cornell University Sustainable Design: Sustainability Research Facility" on constructing a building on Cornell's campus that would be a center for research and development of sustainable building energy technology. Right now I am working on the Structural Design team of AguaClara, and our goal is to evaluate the current structural methods that Honduran Structural Engineers are using to build AguaClara plants, and see if there are ways to use less structural materials while maintaining high factors of safety.
