Step 7: Verification & Validation
Importance of Verification
It is imperative to do some checks to make sure that the numerical results are accurate. Numerical results can either be compare directly to empirical data or they may be compared to theory.
Verification of Maximum Bending Stress
The ANSYS results will be now verified by comparing to the following results obtained using the Euler-Bernoulli beam equation.
The ANSYS simulation outputed 4.6352MPa which is very close to the results from the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Thus, the maximum bending stress has been verified.
