Alexander O'Connell's Individual Contribution Page

Fall 2009 Contributions

This semester I have worked on the Tube Floc team. My role has primarily been working on the FReTA setup to adapt it to our new experiments. This semester I helped extend the flocculator so that it can be run at three different lengths (2796 cm, 5592 cm, and 8388 cm). In addition, I have worked to adapt the existing Process Controller files for FReTA to run new experiments studying how alum dose affects flocculator performance at various turbidities and lengths and helped run these experiments. Also, I created a new state in Process Controller that allows us to calibrate the influent turbidity before beginning an experiment, and worked to resolve problems with turbidity fluctuations during experiments.
