• Partnership with Viamericas

My major task for this semester is to build a business plan for Viamericas, so that AguaClara can have a lasting partnership with a corporation. Since I don't have much business background, I will spend 2-3 weeks to understand how to successfully write a business plan proposal. To do so, I will attend a workshop: Building Better Business Plans offered by Johnson School on Feb. 10th
Comment: The workshop wasn't exactly what I needed and didn't provide much information. It was mainly how to build a business plan for entrepreneur.

With collaboration from two other outreach members, Will and Alex, we have met to discuss our ideas for Viamericas After the discussion, I have devised a powerpoint presentation and received comments from AguaClara Engineers abroad and Monroe. I reflected those comments and attached the several versions of my powerpoint presentation in this page.

A week before the spring break, Will and I followed up on the initial contact made by Alex in the December 2009, which lead to a discussion with the CEO of the company, Paul Dwyer, over the phone. His response was very positive and thus the contact was handed over to Dan Smith, current AE in Houduras. He had answered the questions that I couldn't fully answer for Paul and he will have a face-to-face meeting with Paul when he visits DC during May.
