"Young Jin"'s Individual Contribution Page

Fall 2008 Mid-Semester Contributions

In the beginning of the semester, I was assigned to the data analysis group within our team. To understand how to use the program Mathcad, an essential program that will be used for almost all experiments, my group and I decided to replicate a past experiment and see how the program processes data (process and results to the replicated experiment:https://confluence.cornell.edu/display/AGUACLARA/Experiment+1%2C+Varying+flow+rate).
After reading Ian's Thesis and analyzing this first experiment, our team moved on to our first main challenge (challenge 2 listed on this page: https://confluence.cornell.edu/display/AGUACLARA/Tube+Floc+Fall+2009+Detailed+Task+List). Getting the results from the new flocculator with varying alum dose, Laura and I processed the data through Mathcad and analyzed the datalog to narrow down the alum dosage range. We documented the conclusion we got from this experiment and started to write up the wiki page related to this experiment. I wrote and posted the Results and Discussion part of experiment 2 (https://confluence.cornell.edu/display/AGUACLARA/Experiment+2%2C+Effect+of+alum+dose+and+flocculator+length).
