Creating Your Individual Contribution Wiki Page

Throughout the semester you will become very familiar with the AguaClara Wiki and this is your first excercise in creating a wiki page. The instructions given below give a step-by-step example of one of the ways to create a new page on the wiki.

Here you will be creating a wiki page that will automatically list the pages you create on the AguaClara Wiki. You will also use this page to write an individual evaluation and reflection of your semester work for grading purposes. This assignment itself is not graded, but it is used to determine the portion of your grade devoted to individual contribution and effort.

Instructions

  1. Log in to the AguaClara wiki
    • Click the "View" tab at the top of the screen and scroll down to "Account" and click on "Log In"
    • Click the "Cornell Single Sign In" and sign in with your netID and Cornell password
  2. Go to the AguaClara member list (Home>Team Resources>Team Roster and Alumni>Team Members 'Current Semester')
  3. Find your name on the list of Students
  4. Update your listing that the information listed for you (NetID, last name, subteam, etc) is correct
  5. Look in the column that shows each student's netID

  6. Click on the link for your netID
    • If you are a returning AguaClara member, your netID will be blue and underlined, and it will already link the the page created about you. It should list any pages you have created on the AguaClara wiki. If it does not list those pages, follow the steps below to fix your page.
    • If you are a new AguaClara member, your netID will be underlined and written in red as shown to the right. Continue with the following steps to create your wiki page.
  7. Click on your red NetID to create a new page. The new page should open up in an editing mode. Click to the blue "Wiki Markup" tab if you are not already in it.
    • Click "Select a Page Template to start from" and then pick the Individual Contribution Page template. Add you name, team, and other information the template asks for.
    • If you already had a page, make sure that it follows the formatting guidelines in the Wiki Guide (also shown below).
  8. Click the "Save" button above and to the right of the Miki Markup box
  9. You have just created you first AguaClara Wiki page!

Wiki Organization

There is an AguaClara template that you can use to create this page. It is called the Individual Contribution Page and it automatically imports the format described below into your page.

For your individual wiki contribution page you will need to adhere to the following format. You will start the page with an h3. heading of "this semester's" contributions, followed by your contributions to date for the semester.
