Objective

During the 2008 winter intercession trip to Honduras, the team brought back a new clay pot from the factory for research purposes. The clay pot is made with a 50/50 sand to clay ratio, and coated with a silver solution to deactivate bacteria. The Point-of-Use (POU) system is useful for families that are located far from community treatment options, or who can not afford more expensive POU systems.

Research will be conducted on the clay pot to see if this method of water treatment can both remove a range of turbidities and deactivate bacteria, as well as determining the pot's clogging potential.
