Analysis

The table depicts the quoted prices of tube and plate settlers, the cost of AguaClara plate settlers, and the normalized quoted price.

The above table depicts the length (L), and the distance between each plate or the diameter of the tube (b) of all quoted settler systems and the current AguaClara settler design implemented at the Four Communities Plant. To normalize the analysis of different performing and cost systems the Vup/Vc ratio equation was calculated. The price of one module of plate setter was then divided by this ratio.
The analysis on this page has the dimensions for the Four Communities Plant but includes the quoted price for AguaClara settlement systems built before the recent decrease in the width (b) from 5 cm to 2.6 cm. The Meurer quote included shipping to any US port. On top of this price, I added $9,000 dollars to the total cost as an estimate of the shipping price from the US to Honduras. I choose this price based upon the shipping quote that I received from Brentwood for shipping from Mexico to Tegucigalpa Honduras. It should be noted that the Vup/Vc ratio is very low for the Meurer system. It should also be noted that the Meurer quote is the only quote that does include the support system for the settling system. The Enviropax shipping quote is also a estimate of almost $15,000.
