Ecuador Pilot Plant

The Ecuador pilot plant has been designed at the request of a University Professor in Ecuador. The plant will be used mainly to demonstrate the AguaClara technology as feasible water treatment technology to communities in the area.

Design Overview

The plant is designed for a flow rate of 3L/s. The plant has 3 floc channels, 2 sedimentation tanks, and has an area of 10.5 cubic meters.
A preliminary design report that was sent to the contact in Ecuador is attached.A preliminary design report that was sent to the contact in Ecuador is attached.

Design Assumptions

Despite the low flow rate, the plant was designed to have 2 sedimentation
tanks to allow for experimentation. The width of the sed tank was set to be 92 cm, based on material specifications that were given. Other design assumptions match those of previous plants.
