Demo Plant Future Goals

There are many design and research aspects of the demo plant that remain to be explored or improved upon. Some suggestions that the Spring 2008 team has for future teams are below.

• A sedimentation tank design that allows for even upflow and settling between all lamellas, to ensure enough settling time.
• Further investigation into the significance of frictional losses in the vertical portions of flocculator channels
• Compare performance of different existing sedimentation tanks, and effect on effluent turbidity
• Explore the possibility of a demo plant design that includes a sludge blanket.
