Subteam leaders foster a collaborative learning environment within their project team to maximize the growth of each of the team members. Subteam leaders guide the team members to:
- ensure that all team members have well defined tasks (every week) and appropriate resources to successfully complete those tasks
- foster peer-based learning within their team
- seek out expert advisers to maximize the team's efficiency
- foster a positive collaborative environment that is a prerequisite for a high performing team
- maintain regular electronic communication with team members as well as face-to-face meetings
- guide reflective discussions on the effectiveness of team interactions with the goal of continual improvement
- maintain high standards and high expectations
- hold team members accountable to meet their commitments to the team
- check for comprehension by all of the team members and take appropriate steps to
- insist that expert team members empower novice members (see Novice-expert continuum)
