The AguaClara Program Coordinator program assistant will be employed by Cornell University to provide program coordination to the international expansion of the AguaClara project. The program coordinator assistant will have an office in Hollister Hall and will work closely with the program director, advisory council, the student project team, and international international implementation partners, and donors. The successful candidate will help coordinate activities of the multidisciplinary team at Cornell as well as launch new project sites with new implementation partners.

Job Responsibilities

Coordinate project expansion to new countries (30% FTE)

  • Help evaluate potential partner organizations (philanthropic and implementation)
  • Serve as liaison with international implementation partners
  • Organize site visits and meetings with stakeholders

Organize logistics, manage risk, and plan for project events including (30% FTE)

  • Annual educational student tour of project activities in Central America
  • Fundraising events
  • sites (arrange for transportation, lodging, and site visits)
  • Outreach activities such as campus, community, and Outreach Activities such as K-12 technology demonstrationsproject demonstrations events (may include accompanying student delegations to off campus events and coordination with local schools)
  • Student internships in countries with AguaClara projects (arrange for visa, transportation, language study and maintain contact with the interns)

Communication, fund raising and outreach (40% FTE)

  • Respond to project information requestsMaintain communication with partner organizations

  • Review and revise scientific papers submitted by the AguaClara team for publication

Required Skills

  • Coordinate fund raising activities such as informational meetings and communication with Rotary Clubs and other civic organizations
  • Create newsletters and correspond with individual donors as well as donor organizations

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in writing grants and newsletters
  • Fluent in Spanish
  • Proficiency in Grant writing and technical writing
  • Proficiency in Wiki
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Cross cultural communication skills
  • Able to work closely build respectful relations based on trust with the student team, implementation partners, donors, and the advisory council
