Motivation and Objectives
The Outreach Team is a vital and unique part of AguaClara that allows engineering and non-engineering majors to focus their attention on funding and promoting the organization. AguaClara is attempting to sustain itself financially while publicizing and promoting its achievements and seeking contacts to further its mission.
The goals of the Outreach Team include raising awareness of AguaClara both in the Cornell and Ithaca community, and raising funds to build plants and support those working for AguaClara in Honduras and for research on campus, and recruiting new team members. The Outreach Team is in constant collaboration with the on-campus AguaClara Club, a student-run organization started in the fall of 2009. Members of the Outreach Team assist in managing the events and projects that the club organizes throughout the school yearconstantly looking for new funding opportunities to expand on campus research.
The team is also responsible for establishing processes, precedents, and standards for future outreach team members by documenting procedures and methods which make it easier for future members to continue the tasks of fundraising, recruiting and creating awareness. The Outreach Team is divided into two subgroups
EDIT: Moved into Public Relations subteam. Additional teams (business model, etc.) to be added on a year-to-year basis if necessary. - Sept 2011
