This semester I am working with StaR FInE sub team which is responsible for finding ways to for water to enter the filtration system. In this semester, we aim at testing smaller apparatus working on find new ways to prevent the sand from infiltrating the systemI’m working on Stacked Rapid Sand Filter Injection and Extraction (StaRS FInE) in this semester. This subteam aims at figuring out an alternative method for water to travel through the filter. Because the filtration system met the clogging problem when used slotted pipes, our team test the winged pipe in this semester to find whether we could replace the slotted pipes with winged pipe for the filtration system. Further, the team conducts stress test on vertical wings on inlet pipe.
