Objective: To develop guidelines for balancing solar energy generation and green infrastructure in landscaping designs
Background: Installing solar panels on rooftops often requires cutting down existing trees. Scope of Work: MEng students will work with PhD students to integrate micro-environmental and energy simulations, which will enable analysis We are looking for highly motivated students to work on one of the following areas: 1) conducting micro-climate experiments to quantify the impact of vegetation on building energy consumption, and 2) integrating micro-climate and energy simulations to analyze on how different landscaping designs will affect building energy consumptions. Design guidelines will be developed We aim to develop guidelines to maximize solar generation and the benefits of green infrastructure.
