Installing solar panels on rooftops often requires cutting down existing trees. We are looking for highly motivated students to work on one of the following areas: 1) conducting micro-climate experiments to quantify the impact of vegetation on building energy consumption, and 2) integrating micro-climate and energy simulations to analyze on how different landscaping designs will affect building energy consumptions. We aim to develop guidelines to maximize solar generation and the benefits of green infrastructure.
