Black Plate Analysis

The effect of horizontal black area was determined by analyzing the tests that had changed
the black area in some way. Different tests were: standard (black lid on pot, no area
covered), half black plate, no black plate, in addition to silver lid on pot. These tests were
run in Spring 2008 with the smaller cooker with 1 pot of 5lb water, centered. As
hypothesized, increasing black area decreases time to cook.
