• Paint Testing  The paint on the exterior of the solar ovens used in Nicaragua rapidly peels, which gives people a negative impression of their quality, and makes it more difficult convince people of their viability as a cooking tool. We have conducted tests to determine the best way to prevent this from happening.
• Strain Gauges: These are used to determine the amount of strain on the glass top of the cooker, allowing determination of where the glass is likely to crack.
