Interview Data – Company E Dick Aubrecht
(1) Primary contact was a professor who made an introduction to Abby Westervelt. Abby has facilitated developing a partnership. The company has sent several requests for proposals on different specific projects. Several faculty members have responded. No projects have been started yet. There has been no discussion of contracts.
(2) The initial contact was a discussion with a faculty member during a campus visit to give a lecture.
(3) This has been a very good experience so far. The people in the Bio Medical Engineering department are very responsive.
(4) The initial objectives have been achieved.
(5) Cornell has been on par with other universities. Abby has been the key.
(6) The communication, quality and timeliness has been very good.
(7) It would help to have a process posted on the web. Also, this partnership will likely lead to involvement with the Medical School. It would be helpful to know how Cornell works across colleges.
