This semester I am a member of the Stacked Filtration Research team. We began the semester by making physical observations about the backwash process which helped us to determine a method for initializing and terminating backwash. We then began dye tracer study experiments to evaluate whether or not there is uniform flow in each layer of the filter. We work collectively on the experiments and I have helped with the set up and running of experiments. I have also contributed in the writing and editing our proof-of-concept paper, reflection reports, and a poster.
