I’m the team Leader of Plate Settler Capture Velocity research team. Together with my team members, Xiaocan Sun and Yizhao Du, we fixed on doing research on the effect of capture velocity, raw water turbidity and coagulant dose on the performance of AguaClara water treatment. My main contribution is leading my team members doing experiment and compiling the task list, research report and teach-in. Since there are many cycles of the experiment, we take care of the running of the experiment regularly. I’m responsible for arrange team members for experiment duties and tasks. Once some problems occur, I will organize our team members to discuss and solve them together. Also I’m mainly responsible for writing the research report.
During our experiment, we solve many problems that we encountered. For example, we solve the problem of floc roll-up by replacing the tube settler with a larger diameter tube. We eliminate the big difference between the flow rate recorded by process controller and actual flow rate by re-calibration. And we also figured out how to create new states in the process controller and make the experiment running continuously by regularly changing into another state automatically. Thus, we largely reduced our work.
