Summer 2014 Contributions
This summer I am a member of the Low Flow Stacked Rapid Sand Filtration Team. Some of the major tasks include analyzing the performance and head loss of the filter. We will be working on analyzing the source of excessive head loss in the LFSRSF as observed by the previous team. Apart from that ,we will be designing the control systems between multiple LFSRSFs. We will be working on the fabrication of the inlet and outlet tanks with weir system. We are also planning to find a simpler method for the operator to know if the sand bed is fluidized or not. Performance of the filter will be measured and the head loss for fluidization of sand bed for clean and clogged conditions will also be measured.
