Fall 2016 Contributions

This is my first semester on the AguaClara Design Team. This semester, i began by training in MathCAD for the first few weeks. I have been working on the Section Cuts challenge along with Fletcher. This challenge involved contacting engineers in Honduras and understanding what we require from a section cuts tool. We took some time to understand exactly how section cuts are made and what the existing problems are with the AutoCAD section cuts method. We have been contacting Autodesk and sending them samples in order to help them create a tool that fits our needs.

Along with the Section Cuts challenge, Fletcher and I looked into the Flocculator Head Loss bug hunt which was fixed after understanding where the issues were and what margin of error was acceptable for head loss. I am now looking at another challenge in addition to the Section Cuts challenge, possibly one that involves altering or writing code for the sedimentation tank.
