Spring 09 Contributions

Worked on the Pilot Plant team with team leader Jeff Katz. In the pilot plant team we tested theoretical AguaClara research in a more realistic environment. In this semester I helped the Pilot Plant team design and construct new baffles for the pilot plant. I also conducted tests relating flocculation to baffle spacing in the flocculator.

Spring 10 Contributions

Worked on the Design Team with team leader Heather Reed. We used MathCAD to code new updates for AguaClara's Automated Design Tool. In this semester I design a new pipe frame support for the baffles in the sedimentation tank with Trang Pham.

Spring 11 Contributions

Team leader for the Water Pump Team. We are trying to develop a hand powered pump that can deliver water from the sedimentation tank to the chemical stock tanks efficiently. We are currently looking at a variety of designs including a piston lever pump, treadle pump, and diaphragm pump. We are performing an analysis of these pump designs to determine various parameters of the pumps.
