Having had some experience with AguaClara in the Intro class as a freshman, I am eager to be working on the Flocculator and Sedimentation Optimization team as a sophomore. I gained valuable knowledge and experience building a floc blanket in a small scale water treatment apparatus last year and will be furthering my work in this area this semester. My team will be exploring the benefits and/or disadvantages of implementing floc recycle in water treatment systems. Hopefully our research in the lab will be conclusive and confirm whether or not floc recycle could significantly reduce the required coagulent dose!
