This will be my first semester with the AguaClara program and I am excited to be working with Mickey Kumar and Ethan Keller on the Floc Probe team. The goal of our team is to develop a "probe" that allows us to better understand the behavior of floc and floc blankets in the Sedimentation Tank. We currently do not have a comprehensive idea of what exactly is happening in the sedimentation tank and as a result we are not able to troubleshoot the current issues that associated with floc. Such problems include diminished sedimentation tank performance overtime, and excess sludge accumulation in the tanks.
