Spring 2014 Contributions

I am currently working on the Plant Cost Calculator and Water Treatment Technology Selection team, under the Cost Calculator subteam. My role on the team is to assess known AguaClara plant costs and material costs for future plants, and to use available empirics on capital and labor costs to provide AguaClara customers with a reliable online tool to provide an accurate estimate of plant cost given a geographic location and target population.

Mid-Semester Update:

I am currently in the final stages of reviewing AguaClara cost data from Honduras water treatment plants. I have performed regression analysis to determine an initial flow rate - cost correlation and are now looking to acquire more data and to model this relationship robustly with appropriate software. I am currently investigating database options (e.g. MySQL with PHP) to integrate our data into an displayable online calculation. My next steps following the database research will be to review supply cost from several geographic regions.
