"Semester" Contributions

I provided the bulk of information used for the Water Treatment Technology Selection Guide with optimization of water technology choice based on a user's inputted information. Currently, the WTTSG only has available information for AguaClara, and can only provide a user with a recommendation as to whether an AguaClara plant would be a suitable option for their water quality needs. This was achieved by gathering data on AguaClara plant performance for the measures of turbidity and coliforms. For the rest of contaminants, data was gathered on the unit processes that AguaClara plants possess (flocculation, sedimentation, and filtration; disinfection/oxidation) and estimated values for contaminant removal was based on the general effectiveness of the unit process. Some general information was also gathered on other treatment options through research into the Environmental Protection Agency's database on package plants and slow sand filtration. With collaboration within AguaClara, the structure for the webtool has been modified under my choices.
