Future Challenges
* Completion of the study on the effects of various alum dosages and flocculator length
During fall 2009, we began to run experiments for challenge 2. Though a lot of data have been retrieved, this challenge has yet been completed. A speculative conclusion has been made based on the results gathered so far during fall 2009; however, for precision and more data, this challenge needs to be continued. The completion of this challenge will be the first goal for the Spring 2010 Tube Floc team.
* Start on the study on the effects of variation of PH
For the next challenge, the effects of PH variation will be studied. Floc strength is closely related to the influent PH and alum; by studying the optimal influent PH and effects of PH in different situations, we expect to find essential information that can facilitate in the improvement of the AguaClara flocculator.
