Cleaning directions for the HF turbidiemter

Clean the lenses with a Q-tip. Cut the Q-tip down to about 1 1/2 cm on each side. You will need to hold the swabs with something like hemostats or locking tweezers. Wet one Q-tip swab with Windex window cleaner and wipe down both lenses, the lamp side and the detector side. Then exchange the swabs for the dry one and dry the lenses. After recalibration the instrument should be fine. The instruments have some very small o-rings that form seals, so this procedure can't hurt anything. this is kind of crude, but can be done in the field without requiring disassembly.
