Introduction to MathCAD Data Processers for New Members

Manipulating MathCAD for further analyses

  1. Writing code for more user friendly processing files
  2. Data Storage within MathCAD:
  • Determined a way to extract and export data from specific runs within an experiment by specifying a number in the sub column after data(5)
  • But how do we know what run number is for what experiment? Need to make this a written in function
  • Write a code to be able to extract two data columns for a run or comparing runs and graph a 2-D plot

Meeting with Monroe about Semester Goals

To Do:

  1. Contact HF Scientific technical support about obtaining the raw data from the turbidimeter instead of an average per second value.
  2. MathCAD data analyses- produce a data processer that will gather specific information from many experiments and compile only needed information into one file in order to better manage data/plot data (2D).
  3. Graph data analyses- Check out Monroe's comments on Velocity versus Turbidity and Particle Size distribution graphs, try to use extreme experiment data to see if trends are apparent in current data.
  4. Repeat some experiments on the flocculator in extreme cases to check repeatability, see if outliers are still occuring, and to use in #3.

  1. Received feedbacks on the data analysis - Is polynomial regression sufficient to describe the data?
  2. Run a set of experiment for multiple times to see its repeatability
  3. Analyze the new set of data from this semester
